Petiole is a recommendation system for high-precision crop production based on a mobile application. Petiole helps to monitor the dynamics of plant growth during the vegetation period through measurements of the leaf area. By analyzing the obtained data, the “smart tracker” determines the plants’ reaction to various factors, including weather, fertilizers, and others. The package includes a mobile application (Android), a special stand for the smartphone, and a plate for calibration and measurements.

Petiole became the finalist of the international competition, GIST Tech-I 2015, initiated by the US State Department. The project became the first Ukrainian solution in the history of the contest, which qualified for the final. In September, the tracker became one of the winners of the Agro IT-Booster Hackathon (Ternopil), and in late 2015, it was included in the 2015 Top-20 Brightest Ideas according to the American business television channel, CNBC.
